We have had a few frosts here in Cork, so on the day I set aside for gardening this week I decided I had better lift my dahlia tubers.
I have never grown dahlias before and have been very pleased. I had flowers from the start of July for four months until the startof November.
These dahlias were ones I bought cheap from the supermarket in the spring. Most of the tubers were tiny when I planted them. I planted 16 and ony 6 grew. The tubers when I lifted them are now the size of small carrots. Next year I will spilt some tuber clumps and try to increase my stock.
